I had to say good-bye to my partner, my good friend, my sweet Jenna last week. She lived a long and happy life but in the end could not overcome the spinal stenosis that left her increasingly crippled and unable to walk on her own. Two days before her death a friend and I drove her to the hill above the pond she loved to swim in, but could no longer walk to. We carried her down the hill in a sling, put a safety vest on her, and threw sticks for her so she could have one last wonderful swim. She will be greatly missed.
